Can I choose the colour of my mask?

Yes, after the campaign ends we will send out a survey where you can select which colour AirSkin you’d like.

Can I choose the size of my mask?

The Airhead mask is one-size-fits-all. Our mask has a medical-grade silicon seal that fits a wide range of face shapes and sizes.

Can I wash the mask?

Yes, the mask has a completely modular design so that you can take it apart and clean each part thoroughly after use. We recommend washing the Airskins and straps in warm soapy water.

The filter is the only part of the mask that cannot be washed. However it lasts for up to 60 hours depending on use, at which point it must be replaced.

Have you tested your mask?

We have consistently tested the mask throughout the design process. Our filters exceed the top European regulatory standard (FFP3) by removing 99% of PM2.5 and particles down to PM0.3 microns.

However, we do not yet have the formal FFP3 (N99) certification because this testing must be done on the final manufactured product. We are confident we will achieve it, and we will be testing the masks with independent test houses as soon as possible. We’ll keep you updated!

How do I know when to change the filter?

The Airhead filter lasts up to 60 hours, which is roughly about 2 - 4 weeks of use. The life span of a filter however will reduce if it is being used in particularly polluted areas.

How long can the filters be stored for?

If kept in their original sealed packaging, the filters will last for years.

How do I buy extra filters and AirSkins?

Once you’ve become a backer, we’ll send you a survey at the end of the campaign where you can chose your mask colour. At this point, you can also chose whether to add more replacement filters and other AirSkins.

Filters will cost £12 for 3 (RRP £18) and an AirSkin will cost £10 (RRP £15)

How effective is the mask if I have a beard?

Despite having an incredibly effective medical-grade silicon seal, a beard can still create some small gaps between the wearers face and the mask. For the best airtight seal, we’d recommend a good old clean shave.

Will the mask fog up my glasses?

No, together the airtight seal and efficient exhalation valves quickly removes hot air without it steaming up glasses.

Does your mask fit children?

The current Airhead mask is designed for adults, however we are already working hard to release our mask for children as soon as possible!

Do you offer refunds?

The support we get from our Kickstarter backers will enable us to finish creating the Airhead mask for all our incredible customers. Offering refunds could put this in jeopardy therefore we would only offer refunds on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
